Fig. 9. Preimplantation Genetic Diagnosis (PGD) is done primarily using two distinct techniques. Examination of DNA/genes is done by Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) or Fluorescent In Situ Hybridization (FISH). Selection of the appropriate technique depends on the underlying genetic abnormality.
