Donor Insemination Artificial insemination using donor sperm. Donor sperm is thoroughly tested and maybe frozen for six months. The donor sperm is then carefully processed and inserted into the woman’s vagina, cervical canal, or directly into the uterus. In order to be successful it needs to be done shortly prior to ovulation. AID is done when the husband is sterile or severely infertile.
